BEMS Latinos In Action hosted guest speaker Ann Mauri. Ann was the first woman firefighter in SLC. She struggled in academics from the time she was very little, but she found sports and physical activities were a way to blossom as a woman with strong energy. After failing at college, she eventually found her place in nursing and medicine. Her parents came from Spain and they were an awesome inspiration to overcome difficulties in her life. She got a doctorate in nursing and retired a couple of years ago. Today she follows a simple rule in her life: Be kind to everyone because you want everyone to be kind to you. #weareBEMS
